In the Spotlight !
The sermon (Khutbah) that the Greatest Messenger, Muhammad peace be upon him and his family (P), delivered on the last Friday of the month of Sha'bahn on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadahn.

The speech contains the loftiest and most noble human values put in the most beautiful words and elegant phrases. It is presented in the best style – which is the style and eloquence of prophethood.

We earnestly ask Allah Almighty to help us follow the Prophet (P) in words and deeds, for Allah is the helper and the supporter.
"Bismillahi Alrahmani Alraheem"
"In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent The Merciful".

All Praise is to Him, Lord of the Worlds. Let Allah’s Blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad and upon his righteous and pure family, and may Allah condemn their enemies."

THE VERSE OF MASTERSHIP (WILAYAH)
"Verily, your Master is only Allah and His Apostle and those who believe, those who establish prayers, and pay the zakat while bowed (in worship)" (5:55).*

The Muslim scholars agree that this verse was revealed in honor of Imam 'Ali (AS). It clearly shows that there are only three masters of the believers. Firstly, Allah Almighty; secondly, His Prophet (PBUH); and thirdly, 'Ali - with the eleven succeeding Imams (AS).

THE FORMAL DECLARATION OF GHADIR KHUMM
The previous declaration is one of hundreds that may be classified as a prelude to the formal declaration of the successor of Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) at Ghadir Khumm.
"I am defining Islam as no one has defined it before me: Islam is submission, submission is conviction, conviction is affirmation, affirmation is acknowledgement, acknowledgement is performance of obligations, and the performance of obligations is good deeds."
(Imam Ali (AS)) Nahj al-Balagha (The Peak of Eloquence), saying #125

Islam is the modern (latest) version of the message sent by God through Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus. Islam was sent to mankind through Prophet Muhammad. Islam is "modern" in the sense that it has come to complement the teachings which were introduced through Moses and Jesus.

Islam is a religion which guides its followers in every aspect of their lives. It is a way of life.

Islam is a religion which seeks to give a meaningful purpose to our life on this earth. It seeks to guide us in fulfilling that purpose by creating harmony between ourselves, our Creator and fellow human beings.

Introduction
Islam is a unique and indivisible system that provides a complete and comprehensive set of teachings, addressing the issues of concern to both life of this world and that of the hereafter. In this section, we will be reviewing these issues in a form of condensed articles, hoping it will lead to a better understanding and a better application of these essential concepts in our day-to-day life.

The fundamental principles of Islam (Usool el Deen), which are the ‘pillars’ of Islam, are five. A Muslim must believe in all five principles; no more and no less.

The five fundamental principles are:
1. The Indivisible Oneness of the Supreme Being and Creator of All Things. (Tawheed)
2. Justice of the Supreme Being. ('Adl)
3. The Prophethood. (Nobuwwah)
4. The Leadership of Mankind. (Imamah)
5. The Resurrection. (Me'ad)
